Pictures of Elizabeth and Jane
These are Elizabeth and Jane, who are female fancy rats. They were born 28 December 2002.
Their names come from Shannon's favourite book, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (I liked it too). Elizabeth is more bold, while Jane is more reserved (shy, actually) and ladylike.
Jane passed away after a short illness on 26 July 2004. Elizabeth passed away of old age on 15 November 2004.
Welcome to Ratty Towers, the cage we built for Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Jane. The design of the cage was based strongly on that of the Rats of the Round Table.
Meet Elizbeth (or Lizzie, front-right) and Jane (rear-left). Jane is a "dumbo" rat. This picture was taken in their first days in their new home.
